Monday, 9th December 2019 Weekly Note

CHRISTMAS PLAYS

As mentioned previously, the remaining Christmas plays are taking place this week. The P.3/4 – P.5/6/7 presentations will take place on Wednesday night at 7.30pm. All are warmly invited to attend and show your support. To enable us to get everything in order for the senior plays and Christmas draw, there will be a half day on Wednesday. We ask that arrangements be made to lift your child/children between 12.30 – 12.45pm when they will have finished their dinner.

Please note there will be no After School Provision or Cornabracken Wrap Around Provision on Wednesday.

Many thanks to all who have bought tickets or donated prizes for the Christmas Draw. The draw will take place after Wednesday’s school plays, when tea and mince pies will be served, courtesy of the Parents’ Association.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

This is the final week for Core Kids and Angie’s Art Clubs. Please note that due to Wednesday’s half day, the Art Club will be held on Thursday of this week.

CHRISTMAS DINNER

Christmas dinner is being served in the school this Thursday, 12th December. As there are usually very high numbers taking dinner that day, we ask that anyone not wishing to take dinner on Wednesday, please let their teacher know by tomorrow (Tues). As dinners are ordered in advance, it would be appreciated by the catering dept. to have as accurate a number for ordering as possible. If children wish to wear a Christmas themed jumper to school on Thursday, they are welcome to do so.

DO THIS IN MEMORY MASS

Pupils in P.4 are reminded that the next ‘Do This In Memory’ Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday night at 6.00pm.

DRUMRAGH PARISH DRAW

The school is once again acting as a promoter for the Drumragh Parish Draw next year. Anyone wishing to subscribe should contact the school before the holidays as the first draw takes place in early January.

NEW ENROLMENT

Applications for next year’s P.1 class will soon be invited online. Should you be aware of anyone considering Sacred Heart P.S. as an option for their child please make them aware of the many strengths of our school.

We have decided against hosting a formal Open day but be assured that anyone wanting to visit the school for a chat and a look at what we have on offer, will be made most welcome.

As you are doubtless aware budgets are under great pressure and as funding depends on enrolment numbers, we ask for any help you can give us in this request.
